Whether you love to listen to music, watch movies, play games, or use your computer as a phone, computer headphones are a must have item.

I purchased this headset because I wanted something I could use hands-free with Skype, and I have had excellent use out of the counterpart Philips SBC HS520 stereo headphones - which share the brilliant neckband (as opposed to headband) detail. The audio quality is just as good (if not better) than with these VOIP Headphones, although they do lack the comfort.

My main criticism of these VOIP Headphones is the microphone. The first time I used it to make a call, the person on the other line complained about me sounding muffled. I thought this might be due to the foam microphone cover, which I removed only to be told that this provided marginal improvement. The second time I used it, to make a series of important phone calls, all of the people on the other line complained about barely being able to hear me - at which point I switched to a Tesco internet phone handset which I purchased for a penny, which gave me no problems whatsoever.

I think this problem has something to do with a design fault on the headset. The microphone is a good 2-3 inches away from the mouth, so you have to push it near to your mouth to get any kind of audio connection on the other line. This kind of defeats the point of it being "hands-free". Furthermore, even when you do this, most of the peolpe you call will tell you that they can barely hear you - which only adds to the frustration.

A nice design, and great sound - but a Skype VOIP Headphones and headset stands or falls on the quality of its mic.
